There’s been a great deal written recently about the benefits of pets in the office. A recent article entitled “Perkonomics in a Time of Recession” (warning: paid site) in Canada’s major daily The Globe and Mail, gave the perk a “Thumbs up”, citing that animals in the office are a proven way to lower stress and increase joy.
On that note, meet Gracie, our ADCENTRICITY mascot.
Gracie is a rescue – I got her from an Ohio shelter through a Canadian organization by the name of 4 Legged Love. AC’s Toronto office (and building) is pet friendly – our floor alone has 6 dogs.
Gracie had been neglected, but she’s come a long way since then, not the least of which gaining over 25 pounds in the last 3 months. Most of the time you can find her under my desk on her blanket snoozing away or tucking her nose under my colleagues’ arms, mooching for attention. She’s also great in management meetings…also snoozing. Not sure what that says about our meetings ☺
If dogs are de-stressors, then we’re absolutely zen.
